David M. O'Neill

 

July of 2021 David was contracted by Warner Brothers Studios in association with ESX Productions to develop and write a hijack action drama entitled Passenger 58.

David's screenplay, "The Stand at Paxton County" was produced in the spring of 2019 and premiered on the Netflix network May of 2020. His latest produced work is entitled, "Mary's Life after Jesus, the Road to Ephesus", documentary produced on location in Ephesus Turkey and through The Ephesus Foundation.

Written and directed works include, Five Aces (20th Century Fox), Player 5150 (First Look Studios).

Other written and produced works include, ESX/Netflix "The Stand at Paxton County" and the critically acclaimed, "The Black Tulip" (Snagfilms). The film was selected for screening as Afghanistan's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards and premiered September 23rd, 2010, at the Ariana Cinema Theater in Kabul, Afghanistan. There were advance screenings at the headquarters of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force for allied commander General David Petraeus, the U.S. embassy in Kabul along with invited dignitaries at the Wiesenthal Center in Los Angeles.

Other past works include writing for such notables; "Threat" - Nick Cassavetes, Howard Kazanjian - Raiders of the Lost Arc, "War Junkies" - Academy Award Winning Mark Harris (Crash - Gods and Monsters), "Lady Godiva" - Santa Monica Studios, Academy Award Winning Joost Betzer - "Babette's Feast" (English Version) - Panorama Film, Last Lovers - Panorama Film, Jack London's "Martin Eden" (Optioned) - Panorama Film.

David's films have enjoyed such awards as the Pen Center's "Freedom to Write Award", "Afghanistan's official entry into the Academy of Motion Pictures" for Best Foreign Film along with other notable festival awards including Ft. Lauderdale's Spirit of Independent Filmmaking Award, Beverly Hills Film Festival, Best Foreign Film - Golden Palm Award, Boston International Film Festival Best Narrative Feature Film Cinequest San Jose Film Festival, Nominated, Best Feature Feature Film Monaco Charity Film Festival Festival Award New York International Film and TV Festival Nominated, Salento International Film Festival. William Morris Agency - Writer of the Week.

Education: Master's Writing Certificate at Screenwriting University, Bachelor of Science Degree - Graduate of the University of Oregon. Scholarship Winner, American Conservatory Theatre - San Francisco. Post Grad - University of Washington, Arizona School of Business - Scottsdale.
